Scout Minerals Excavation

This mineral excavation set combines a digging block, 5 real minerals and matching tools into a hands-on discovery activity. Each stone measures 2-3 cm, so every find has a visible shape and surface to inspect once it has been uncovered with the wooden mallet, chisel and brush at the table. After the excavation, the set shifts from digging to close observation. The included magnifier helps bring out colour differences, edges and natural patterning on each mineral, while the drawstring bag keeps the collected stones together between uses. The white excavation block holds the hidden pieces in place until they are released through tapping, scraping and brushing, giving the activity a clear sequence from first mark to final reveal. Suitable from birth is not applicable here; the age marking in the data is 3Y+. The set works well for calm indoor sessions where the block can be placed on paper or a tray and the minerals sorted out as they appear. Once all 5 stones are uncovered, the tools, magnifier and bag support a second round of use through examining, comparing and storing the finds.
